Comissioned by Ben Quarles in 2017.

Written for Bass Clarinet. The basic idea behind it is a polymetrical groove between a melodic line and an ostinato pattern. Note that this composition utilizes polymetre, not polyrhythm, as the patterns each have an equal beat but differ in metrical length. Further, the time signatures chosen are non-trivial; the entire composition is built around 7/8, 9/8, and 11/8. Versions for other solo instruments (such as saxophone or EWI) may available upon request.
